Technische Universität Wien - Institute of Materials Science and Technology
Research at the Institute of Materials Science and Technology covers the entire spectrum of engineering materials going from metallic materials to polymers and ceramics and composite materials. Strong emphasis is laid on experimental investigation of materials behaviour, however, accompanied by sound physical modelling of the microstructure evolution during processing and service.
Technologies and competences
Core competences are the characterisation of engineering materials, particularly light metals, steels, polymers, polymer and metal matrix composites, and analyses of forming processes of metals and polymers. Relationships between microstructure and properties are also investigated.
