Austrian Competences in Aeronautics Technology

University of Graz - Department of Statistics and Operations Research

The Department focuses on theoretical and applied research in optimisation. It develops advanced mathematical models and solution algorithms for discrete optimisation problems arising in all operations such as flight and crew scheduling, manpower planning, runway scheduling, departure sequencing, and optimal maintenance strategies.

Technologies and competences

The Department‘s core competences are advanced knowledge in mathematical programming and discrete optimisation, developing and solving large-scale optimisation models by exact and heuristic methods, in particular linear integer optimisation and combinatorial problems.
